Can anyone tell me if there is a "start time" for bin collections  in Horsham District?? I live in North Horsham and my "bin day" is Tuesday. I am frequently woken up by the re-cycling round coming around soon after 6 o'clock.Last week it was 6.15 when they decided that it was time to wake up my household!! Most people don't get up until at least 6.30 and if you have children you certainly want them to stay asleep until 7. I am also sure that they could make less noise when collecting, those green baskets make a lot of noise when just dropped on the pavement. Comments?

I too would be interested to know if there are any regulations regarding the time refuse collections can start. About a fortnight ago on a Tuesday I heard the "bin men" at 5.10am which I consider to be totally unacceptable. We live in Broadbridge Heath & I believe the garbage truck was in Swann Way at the time.

I know what you mean about binmen waking you up, but they need to be out of the way when everyone starts to go to work or they block the roads.

Any time between 06:00 and 07:00 for all three when it is garden waste day. OK for me because I am up for work at that time. Can be a problem when the collection is delayed to Saturday for Bank Holidays

Lucky you having just the ONE refuse collection day  I live in one of the appartments in The Forum and we get refuse collectors driving by EVERY DAY.  Not just the one cart either but THREE DIFFERENT ONES - Biffa / Cleanaway and of course the Horsham DC one.  Then you get the road sweeper contraption being driven around at a rate of knots.  If that's not enough there's the container and delivery lorries and all this kicks off around 04.00 a.m.  The activity with delivering or whatever it is that's going on continues until about midnight.  Peppered in between there's the surge in traffic during rush-hour morning and late afternoon and of course we're right beside the bus station so every 10 minutes or so a bus goes rattling off down Blackhorse Way.    Friday and Saturday nights you get drunken revellers ambling back home down Blackhorse Way and at night everythiing ECHOES.  The giggles, shouts, loud talking can be heard by everyone, especially as most have their windows open due to the hot weather.  This situation is bonkers and obviously cannot continue.  The council have done a sterling job so far with pedestrianising the town centre, but why oh why does 'through traffic', buses and the like have to be led through Blackhorse Way?????  It's bad enough with shoppers, kids screaming and shouting and the teenagers on skate boards outside the paved area in front of TKMax - the circular coffee shop also attracts a multitude of customers.  In fact it's NEVER QUIET here and that's such a shame as the appartments are really quite nice to live in.

Any comments on my experiences then !!!!!!
