Firstly I should say I am no fan of Tony Blair or his Labour Government, I have voted for Francis Maude in the last 3 general elections. I was however dismayed that Francis Maude voted against the government's proposed amendment of the terror bill, i.e that police should be allowed to detain terrorism suspects for up to 90 days. Judging by the letters this week in the West Sussex County Times, I am not the only Horsham Constituent that shares this view.

So the question for my poll is:

Do you agree with Francis Maude's decision to oppose the Government's planned amendment to the terror bill.

If a suspect is locked up for 3 months and is subsequently proved innocent he can be given compensation.

How can you compensate an innocent person, who is killed by a terrorist, who was arrested but subsequently released before charges could be made against him?

The 90 day detention law is an abomination...it should not be allowed and goes against every basic human rights law in the book.

i dont want to sit on the fence on this issue but its

Hello Dr Livingstone

Welcome to the forums.

As you obviously feel strongly about this why don't you add your vote to the poll. The 4 results so far indicate 100% in favour of this law.
