| There is an inscription behind the clock mount that begins: J.C. 18 and ends A.D. so I am guessing that it is the year that Jury Cramp opened the shop. The shop closed in 1965 1986 and H Samuels moved in and put up their clock. For reasons best known to them they covered this inscription with the upper clock mount. See the two pictures below. Jury Cramp was a local jeweller who learned his trade in Clerkenwell, hence the surviving name stone 'Clerkenwell House' If anyone can help with the date that would be great, a photo from 1965 1986 or before might reveal the answer. Thanks! http://www.hiddenhorsham.co.uk/34/34.htm
