There's a great event at Warnham Nature Reserve on the evening of Monday 15th June - please come along if you're interested, it promises to be great fun and you'll see loads of weird and wonderful creatures. It's a joint event between Horsham Natural History Society and Warnham Nature Reserve. The evening will be led by Sam Bayley who is WNR Warden and Chairman of Sussex Moth Group. During the evening we'll be settng a moth trap to see what we can catch! Come along for an introduction to the wonderful variety of moths we have in Horsham, and find out how to trap and identify them. In the recent past there have been moths recorded at WNR that have never previously been recorded in Sussex, so this event shouldn’t be missed! It is suitable for all abilities varying from complete beginners to experienced moth enthusiasts. All are welcome!! If you'd like to come along, please arrive at WNR car park in plenty of time for an 8.30pm start. You can leave when you like, but be prepared for it to be late! Wriggle up for the OPAL Soil and Earthworm Survey!
OPAL is launching a national survey of soils and earthworms in Spring 2009 which anyone can take part in. Surprisingly little is known about soil characteristics, or the influence this has on the creatures that live in it. By getting involved participants can help contribute towards important research that will map soils and earthworms all over England. Visit www.OPALexplorenature.org for more information.
