| Southwater will be holding its annual Christmas Festival this coming weekend, the 5th and 6th December. The weekly market will be on Friday night, from 4pm to 9pm, and there will be a party in No 19, the coffee shop from 6pm to 9pm. Other shops are also planning to open late. Saturday, 6th December is the main event, with activities all day in Beeson House and Lintot Square from Father Christmas arriving at 10am, right through to carols around the Christmas Tree at 4pm. Aaron Sidwell (Steven Beale from Eastenders) will be here to help with the proceedings. Father Christmas will be in his grotto in Beeson House from 10.30am to 12 noon, and again 2pm to 3.30pm, where he will be giving gifts to Southwater children. There is no charge for a visit to see him, as this has been funded by Southwater Parish Council. Also in Beeson House, Angie Choat, our Youth Worker will be holding Christmas craft sessions. There will be Christmas story sessions in the Library too. In Lintot Square, there will be entertainers and fairground rides, and music throughout the day, thanks to Tanbridge House School Orchestra, Bryan Murray and Dave Arthur, and the Horsham Youth Concert Band. Father Christmas will be turning on the Christmas lights at 4pm, and this will be followed by carols around the tree. All the village shops will be open, and keep an eye out for Santa, in the "Find the Santa" competition, where there are big prizes to be won! Entry forms available in the shops. So do come along and join in the Christmas fun at Southwater!
