the way this was drawn to my attention suggested frances maude is trying to further restrict photography, as for police actions... when have they ever followed the law? I fail to understand this misconception that the police are unaware they're bending and often breaking the law...It's absolutely nothing to do with FrancIs Maude, chum. It's this benighted load of cretins, who have so sorely misgoverned this country for the last 11 years, who have created the atmosphere in which such crass stupidity on the part of the police and others takes place. It is political correctness gone absolutely apeshit, but then what do you expect from Brown and the halfwits who somehow or other have raised way above their level to be Ministers of the Crown. Thbey are the ones who have consistently stoked up fear of terrorist attacks.

IIRC someone mentioned earlier in this thread that it was Francis Maud who wanted these restrictions... but I'm not biased, I hate all politicians

There was a petition about this about a year ago, when this issue first came up, which did get to number 10... I can't remember who distributed it, but it was done so through Email. Goes to show that the government doesn't really care.
