My girlfriend and I are considering buying in Horsham but are worried by all the stories of the strategic  gap between Horsham and Crawley being filled. I noticed in the news last week a new development was planned on the greenfield area potentially beginning to close the "Crawsham"gap.

Obviously we both love Horsham as it is at the moment but would have second thoughts if plans were to change the area into a large urban sprawl.....

Does anyone have any views on the above, or could put our minds at rest.

One last thing, can anybody recommend a good local builder capable of constructing a side extension on a victorian house...

many thanks

Hello

Thank your for registering and welcome to the forums.

There is an article in this week's County Times about a proposed new development to the West of Bewbush that will have the effect of reducing the 'strategic gap'. I think it probably depends on whereabouts in Horsham you were thinking of moving to as to whether this is likely to affect you or not.

Sorry I can't help you with a recommendation for a local builder. M has recently suggested that we add a 'recommendations' section to this forum. I think this is a great idea so maybe if anybody can recommend a builder we could use this to start the new section.
