My wife and I recently spent a long weekend in London. During our stay we ate out in several restaurants. We were amazed to find that none them could offer us a table in a non smoking area. One of the restaurant was spread over three floors but each floor allowed smoking.

That weekend has made us realise how much we take for granted smoke free dining in Horsham. We would like to that all the restaurants in Horsham that have allow diners a completely smoke free experience.

Incidentally the first Smoke Free Dining accreditation from Horsham District Council was awarded to Indian Tree Tandoori RestaurantThe in London Road. We have always had an excellent meal there and would like to thank the proprietor Islam Syed for leading the way with this initiative.

Yes well done Horsham

I guess we take it for granted too, we have come to expect to be able to eat our meal without being subjected to smoke.

I've noticed that loads of restaurants in Horsham have gone non-smoking.  As an ex-smoker this pleases me no end!!!

There is an article about this on page 8 of the Horsham District News magazine that arrived with my council tax bill.

The article includes a photograph of Islam Syed of the Indian Tree who has recently registered on this site.

Fame at last Izzy!
