Hi,

I am looking for a group of people who regularly meet for the purpose of training and dialogue,
or for individuals who'd be interested in forming such a group.

I myself am 27 years old and have a background of a bit more than 10 years in Martial Arts with emphasis on Kung Fu, though my training was conducted in an open and flexible way, in terms of the contents. This was back in Germany where I was also teaching for about 5 years, before I moved over to the UK, now to Horsham.
I am absolutely open to any style that comes along. You're experienced in one of the various Karate sub-styles, Kung Fu, Taekwondo, Escrima, JKD, Sanshou, Kickboxing... whatever... We can exchange knowledge and experience to improve our own training and have partners for sparring and experimenting.

What I'm looking for is a group of people with the mutual interest to do training together. With that I mean it depends on the response to this what this will look like.
Everyone joining in has a say in what we do. Whatever the group is interested in, can be discussed and tried out.

Also if there are some people who are relatively new to Martial Arts and would like to get an insight or start a serious regular training, we can talk about setting up a little structured beginners group (maybe even with more than one teacher, if qualified and interested), because I always enjoyed teaching just as much as training myself.

So yea... I am a very laid back person, easy to get along with. I need to get my own training seriously going again after the trouble of international moving and am also looking forward to having a learners group again as well.

This whole thing would be starting off as a no-money project. Everyone joins because of interest.
However if enough people are interested in a structured beginners (or advanced just as welcome) group,
we might talk about some sort of compensation after a try-out month or so if everyone agrees.
But I think at the beginning it's all about getting to know eachother and finding out if this is what you, me and all of us actually want.

What I cannot offer at the moment is a fixed location though. Having just moved here, I have no idea where to look. Youth clubs maybe?
Renting a room, hall or a gym would mean for us to come up with the money. So if anyone has a good idea I'd be pleased to hear about it. Generally all we need to start with is a room big enough so that noone kicks the neighbour, so it's depending on our number.
Otherwise I know a nice closed-in little meadow in Holbrook for example, that I use at the moment, but that is not a long term solution seeing the (even more) rainy season approaching soon.
So let me know, if anyone knows a good place.

I am open to suggestions and questions and hope to get as many answers as possible...
(Also in case you want to know more about the particular style I am training.)

Thanks for reading so far. If you read all of it you must be interested, so... drop me an email:

freeBatjko(at)hotmail.com

Thanks,
-Patrick-

P.S. I just posted this in the Horsham sub-forum and thought Southwater might have someone interested as well. Hope this is ok.

I must admit we don't normally like cross-posting for the simple reason that if you get a few replies on both threads it can get a bit confusing.

I will leave this here but if anybody can help Patrick out or wants more information please reply to the other thread.

I apologize. I wasn't really thinking about that.
I will take care to carry any outcoming discussion only to the Horsham Forum.
