I need to vent some steam publicly, please excuse me.....Having put out the rubbish for collection this morning, I find my bin is the only one NOT collected with NO explanation.

Here is the bin:

So, I look at the Horsham refuse collection website to clarify what the problem is, and come across this:

Excess Waste

* Any rubbish placed outside the wheeled bin will not be collected. Households with 6 persons or less must contain their rubbish in a 140-litre wheeled bin to enable refuse collection to take place.
* Anyone unable to contain their residual waste in one bin can arrange a visit by a Council Officer to discuss waste minimisation.

* Rubbish not contained in your wheeled bin will be collected following the Christmas and New Year period only, and this is limited to three black sack for each household.
* You can take your excess waste to the Household Waste Recycling Site off the A24 at the Hop Oast roundabout, Horsham.

Now, the way I read this is that my bin possibly had some excess waste, but I would have thought that the refuse collectors would have emptied the bin and left the blue box behind. Spoke to the collection dept., got a jobsworth-esque reply. How irritating! It's obviously my fault, but there would appear to be no flexibility for this one off little oversight.

So, take this as a warning that your bin needs to be PERFECTLY filled, or you have to pay for the disposal yourself.... or wait another week.

Is that the pole dancing box on top of your bin?
