Hi guys

Hoping to move into a road off Cedar Drive in the next few weeks.

Was concerned when our environmental report states landfil 500m away - I know it is now not active but since when and could this become active again in the near future?

also any views on the 2 phone mast proposals in southwater?any other future developments that could be negative for southwater?

any info on this would be great as hope to move in really soon!

thank you very much people

michael

Hi,

Well basically I went ahead and paid Horsham District Council for any details they had in regard to the history of the land previous to the build of the house in 1992.  I requested any paperwork they had on what the land was used for prior to housing.  The paperwork just backs up the stuff I had back from the my environmental search and the BGS who stated in an email that it was used as landfill but it was more or a sewage treatment works and that any materials would be obsolete by now.

Paying for two reports in regard to the land details from the council cost me 80 quid each, scandalous.  Paid it anyway but it's a blooming cheek!  I'll be happy to pass on a copy of all the paperwork that I have on the land around this area if it's any help at all?  I really wouldn't want you paying HDC an extra £160 for the same info!

To answer your question, we have moved into Swan Close, Southwater and me and my girlfriend are very happy here. I love it.  I have been jogging around the lanes, woods and also been on the bike and there is nothing around the area that has bought up any concerns at all.

Not sure about any phone masts or where they are proposed to be placed.  Do you have any details on this?

I really wouldn't worry about the environmental searches to much, just make sure you read the details.  Mine said on the front cover "WARNING" which is enough to give you a heart attack but when you actually read the details it wasn't actually that bad.  If you want to call me and discuss, let me know.

Best of luck and hope to see you around Southwater one day!

Regards,

Ben

Hi Ben

Thanks for the feedback. I know from the site logs that there have been quite a few search engine referrals pointing to your original query.  This information will be a useful reference.

Regards
