| Just checked the HDC website and the main pool at The Pavilions is still closed. I did see all the scaffolding along the front of the building a few days ago, and there was obviously quite a bit of damage. But does anyone out there have any idea how long the repairs are scheduled to take? It would be nice if the council could see their way to giving some sort of update on the website. It hasn't been changed since just after the storm. How hard can it be????

| I have had a look on the Pavilions site and the Horsham.gov site and both say the pool will be closed until further notice - with no dates! I have sent them an e mail asking about this and included a link to this thread so that they may respond directly.

This came in yesterday evening....Good Evening Thank you for your enquiry, we are hoping the main pool will re-open on the 25th February if the work proceeds as planned. I would suggest you contact us by telephone before setting out to save a wasted journey if we have been unable to open. Thanks M for that. Why is this info not being made more public? And I notice that the Pavilions website still has not been updated. Who am I to complain? That's right, I am a council tax payer......nobody too important!

| 'Subject to the completion of temporary repairs the Main Pool will reopen on the 26th Feb. ' BUT.... For up-to-date Information Please call...01403 219200 or email enquiries@pavilionsinthepark.co.uk They cant publicise the date because they get new information from the Contractors and Council. By the time an advert is placed in the paper or put on the internet, theres a strong possiblity that the date will have changed. But rest assured that the main pool will reopen as soon as possible! P.S the Leisure Waters and the small Teaching Pool remain open as normal.

Surely the beauty of a website is that it can be quickly updated. They were very quick to announce the closure, but as I stated in my original post, there has been no further information made public. The following text is on the bottom of the Pavilions webpage today: This site was last updated on 20th February 2007. So why not change the information about the pool. We all know that it is closed, I have known it for nearly 5 weeks! "The Pavilions In The Park in Horsham is the District's flagship leisure centre" Quote from HDC website

| i see your point about the fact they could update the website quickly when the dates change. but, if you looked at the site and it said it would open on the 3rd Feb or 17th(both previous dates tht have been released to the public)the majority people might not check nearer the time of their visit. but if they phone up, they can speak to a member of staff and will be able to give the public 'real time' info. Might i add, thanx to the staff for helping customers with as much information as they have. Even with the sarcastic comments and other people 'having a go'. Im sure the staff arnt keeping the pool closed for the fun of it
