What shop is missing from Horsham? Apart from the high street chains what type of independant shop would you like to see? Is there something that you have to travel out of town to get?

I think we are pretty well served in Horsham but I wonder if you can identify any gaps?

Horsham definitely lacks a home brew shop. The nearest good home brew shop for beer or wine making supplies is either Worthing or Lingfield. Scott and Sargeant have got a small section, but it has got even smaller since their refit last year.

I guess the high rents in the town centre would probably prevent anyone trying to start a niche business like this.

When I read your post Andy my first thought was that Beer Essentials in East Street might stock home brew supplies but I have since been told they don't. Maybe its something they could consider adding to their range?

So what does Beer Essentials sell? I had a look at Visit Horsham and they haven't put their details in yet. Are you able to offer a service whereby you fill in the gaps for these shops. It seems a shame to have such an incredibly comprehensive directory of the Horsham shops and yet the detail is not filled in!

In the meantime you might want to have a look at Club Vin in Canada and see how things are done in Halifax, Nova Scotia!

Hi M

We are still developing and testing the site and wish to add new stores gradually. This makes us able to make changes to the site structure without too much disruption. For instance this weekend I am making some major changes to the dynamic URL structures in response to Google's tendency to mark parts of the site as 'duplicate content' which in turn leads to a 'supplemental' Google ranking. There are also plans for many new features for this site.

The Horsham Traders' Guild have provided the basic details of all the Horsham Town Centre businesses. A full listing requires a small subscription fee to cover the cost of this service, running the site, and further development.  The subscription fee for the Visit Horsham website will eventually be incorporated into a full HTG membership. The participating stores have already benefited from HTG and visithorsham.co.uk membership and are very happy with the value that the membership fee brings them. When the current stage of the website development is complete we will be accepting new members of HTG / visthorsham.co.uk.

Although the response so far has been extremely favourable, inevitably we expect that some stores will not wish to join HTG or pay a small subscription fee. Therefore there will always be some businesses that will only ever have their basic details listed.

Hope this helps.
