I have just spent about three hours this morning trying to buy a turkey for Christmas dinner.

There was absolute chaos in Tescos who had completely run out. We then tried Waitrose who had run out also.

We finally manage to get one in County Produce (many thanks Dennis!) but even they where running low.

If anybody still needs a turkey I would suggest ringing the supermarket or store before you set off other wise you might find your self on a wild goose turkey chase like we did this morning!

After all this stress I need to take it easy and chill out so I am off to an Iron Maiden Concert at Earls Court tonight

Too late now but what about the independent butcher in Middle Street? Chris White Family Butchers (Dewhurst until two years ago) has supplied us with turkeys since we moved to Horsham. Order it in November or December and pick it up on Christmas eve. I was there at 07:20 this morning and eyeing up the tiles for another Hidden Horsham page.

Here is it on VisitHorsham.com

Background information: Middle Steet used to be known as Butchers Row and had as many as 14 butchers at one time. When Horsham used to have a bull run the butchers would play their part with the carcasse. Ended sometime in the middle of the 18th Century

Thanks M. Your comments have inspired me to use Middle Street for the latest location update on visithorsham.co.uk.

We will shortly be adding a partners' links page to this site. As promised your site will be included. Do you have a logo you wish to use yet?

I had a similar experience to Dotnetwebs trying to get a turkey this year.  I don't remember there being such a panic in previous years.  I definately will have to remember to order my turkey in advance next year!
