They have gone well over the top with the signage. Was it really called for.......2 signs would have been ample.

RE: Focus DIY Site

The old Focus DIY site has got a new tenant as some people may have already seen. "Dreams" the bed retailer has moved into the unit closest to the roundabout.
I would like to comment about the appearance of the unit. They have no less than FOUR large illuminated signs on the outer walls of the building (3 on the front and 1 on the side ) and then what can only be described as a monstrosity of a triangular sign at the front of the property. (The triangular sign looks like the New Scotland Yard sign but it doesn't go round) In short I think it looks a complete eyesore.Did the council really approve this?? I would have thought that HDC would have had this toned down some what, knowing how strict they are about shop signs in the town centre. OK this isn't the Carfax, but it's on one of the main routes into the town, and if we want to start to make the place look like another boring retail park we have certainly laid a good corner stone here!!

RE: Focus DIY Site

ok i know this is an old topic... but

does any1 know whats actually goin in the Focus DIY site???

i cant find out online anywhere :(

RE: Focus DIY Site

The site is being split into two higher spec warehouse type units. One is currently under offer - as the sign currently says -possibly I understand to a home furnishings company. No fast food outlet in the mix as far as I have heard and nothing on this in their planning application

Focus DIY Site

I have heard from a reliable source that a large fast food chain is looking at the old Focus site for a drive in restaurant. Should do good business with all those offices etc in the area, but pity the local residents if it turns out to be a late night opening outlet. Anyone know any more?
