The average person is not that financially astute and probably doesn't realise:

1. They would actually benefit by lower prices.
2. If the market price can rise by 100% it can also fall and it would only need to fall by 50% to be back to it's original value.

Education. Education. I must admit that when I moved here 12 years ago I found it boring, but there are much better shops and restaurants here now, or perhaps I'm getting too old for anything too exciting. ;) I would still tend to go to Crawley, Guildford or London for clothes shopping though. I've always found most people here welcoming.
I'm sure you would be happy here if you found a nice place here. There are slightly rougher parts to Horsham but they're still really nice compared to nearly anywhere, so I wouldn't worry about any area in particular!

RE: Where to move to?

Another warm welcome Gemma. So there's nowhere really to avoid, then?! That makes life much easier. I've mainly been looking at the older style properties close to the station (denne parade and places around there), so it makes it a bit easier if I don't have to rule any bits out!

I thought it might be a bit like Crawley where there are definite bits that are considered "rough" - I work for an estate agents and it's sooo hard to sell houses in these parts, which has kind of deterred me from any place that people consider rough as I don't want to have problems reselling the property either. Excellent news, that =D

RE: Where to move to?

Hello Gemma

Thank You for registering and welcome to the forums. Fortunately I don't think there are any really BAD areas in Horsham. There are two stations in Horsham that you could use. You might find that somewhere near Littlehaven station would suit you.

You might also want to try this tool that can give you some idea of a particular area:

http://www.upmystreet.com/enter-location/l/?fpage=%2Flocal%2Fmy-neighbours%2Fneighbourhood-profile%2F

Regards

Where to move to?

Hi there,

I'm looking to move to Horsham from Crawley, however we don't know much about the area. could anyone tell me which parts are the bad areas and which parts are the good areas? It's essential that I'm near to the station as I need to get the train in to Crawley daily, and also being near to the town centre would be a bonus. Also, no new estates, please!

Any advice from you Horsham residents would be fantastic! Thanks.

Gemma
