Last week my heavily pregnant wife nearly slipped over on a used condom that had thoughtfully been left half way down a flight of stairs! :sick:

I find this hike inexcusable. Likewise as a family we have to use car parks for swimming, cheque deposits, Saturday shopping etc... This has to make you wonder if the town centre will suffer - I am thinking twice before I have to go into town for anything now, the internet provides most things for less.

Why did the prices go up so much?

Another thing, why are some of the car parks horrible? Have you experienced the lift in the forum? Dead flies & dirt everywhere. Yuk!

It's a shame really, the town is good....

In Crawley the Denvale car park is now having a library built on it, this encouraged some drivers to park on the retail park shop car parks - but beware...the clampers are quick to react!

Yes the price has risen for parking which I think is out of order, but County Mall in Crawley is £1.70 for up to 2 hours.

What does annoy me is that the short stay shopper is now subsidising the all day parker/town centre worker. The all day fee has been DROPPED by 30% from £10 to £7.:angry:

Surely these are the people that should be priced up to encourage use of the park and ride.:w00t:

I use Horsham for browsing, food shopping and having a coffee or weekend lunch. I find that the clothes shops only cater for skinny women and tend to go to Crawley, Brighton, Guildfrod or Reading for clothes. A hike of 40% may mean that I forgo my drink or coffee and save the money for when I'm elsewhere. It will probably stop me from popping into Horsham, which I sometimes do twice a day. I'm already boycotting Sainsbury's as they have their own rules and refuse to fit in with the rest of the town.

My wife mentioned this to me yesterday. we were hit by the 40% increase.

She normally uses Swan walk for an hour or 2 , then one of the other car parks - ie pavillions (for kids gym etc) and does this serveral times a week. So we are out of pocket.

One of my main gripes is the pay and display machines not giving change. Do the council deliberatly come up with an odd charge - ie 70p knowing people may not have the correct amount and use a pound instead?

As somebody who usually parks in Horsham Town Centre daily for an average period of less than 2 hours, the new Horsham Town Centre Car Park Charges have resulted in my weekly car parking bill increasing by 40%.

On the other side of the coin, the all day parking charge has been reduced from £10 to £7.

The "£10 all day parking cost" has been a highly emotive topic for some people for a long time but I have a suspicion that pressure from a vocal majority has resulted in the silent majority paying significantly more for their Town Centre parking.

I would be interested to here how these changes will affect our members.
