These were local characters who brought their influence to bear on our town.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size=3&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt; &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size=3&gt;Who are there counterparts today? I can think of the late Des Downey who worked so hard for Horsham in Bloom. Also Martin Jeremiah for his relentless work on the local music scene. These are both unpaid roles and that is what I am thinking of.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size=3&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt; &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size=3&gt;There must be others that I am missing.
