Manual Lymphatic Drainage

What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)?

MLD is a very specialised type of massage that plays an important part of the treatment of lymphoedema. The aim of the massage is to stimulate or move the excess fluid away from the swollen area so that it can drain away normally.

This is achieved through gentle rhythmical movements of the skin which stimulates the contraction of the lymphatic vessels (the lymphatic system is a supportive system to the circulatory system). This results in the removal of a greater amount of the metabolic waste products and excess fluid from the body's tissues which then enters the lymphatic system. The fluid, now known as lymph, passes through a series of lymph nodes where it is cleansed of dead cells, bacteria and other waste products (=detox). The clean lymph returns then to the blood stream.

is used in the treatment of both primary and secondary lymphoedema
is a key element in the treatment of venous oedema
has successfully been used to aid the healing of leg ulcers
may be used pre and post surgery to aid healing (e.g. orthopaedic surgery, plastic surgery)

alleviates flud congestion such as tired puffy eyes and fluid retention due to pre menstrual syndrome (swollen ankles, bloating)

The menu is very diverse but by no means strange. The usual suspects will still be available, ie. Madras, Korma, Dhansak and Bhuna. But for those guests with a demanding palate this menu will indeed be a welcome and a change from the normal.

We've been providing print locally since 1978. Originally we were based in Billingshurst and known as Weald Printers. I bought the firm in 2003 and re-branded to Weald Print Solutions, and in 2005 I moved the company to larger premises on the Water Lane Trading Estate in Storrington, where we reside today.

During 2006 we developed and launched out online printing site, supplying the whole of the UK, which entailed another re-brand to A Local Printer!

Nowadays, two thirds of our business is with local businesses within a 30 mile radius, with the remainder coming from orders placed on our website by customers all over the UK.

Ordering online can save you up to 70% on traditional print prices, due to the way we are able to "batch up" several customers jobs on the same print run. This is especially true for Flyers, Leaflets and Business Cards

I just thought I would post a message to say that we will be opening a new shop next week in Horsham.

This will be our second shop and be in addition to our existing Billingshurst branch, which was started in 1980. Like the Billingshurst shop it will be multi brand, but is much bigger so we will be able to show off the equipment in an even better way (we hope!)

A few of you will know us and will have used us, so let you friends know we are now on your doorstep and if you have been happy with the service we have provided shout it loud! :D

The shop is in Piries Place, where the shop@panasonic was. For those of you that know the shop we are hiring Scott who has worked there for ten years and really knows his stuff.

We should be open early next week, and be building up our stocks during Feb so hope to be fully up and running in March.
