This year the Festival will run from Thursday 25 to Saturday 27 October 2007.

Enjoy a fantastic range of organised activities including live music, street theatre, a traditional turn-of-the-century fun fair, unique workshops as well as other great things for people of all ages to enjoy.

As a special event, on Friday 26 October from 7pm, band ‘Tongues of Fire’ – will perform, taking the form of a precession allowing crowds to follow them from the Carfax to The Forum. The band can be described as a riot of reeds, brass and percussion inspired by sounds of church and chapel, of village, street, circus and gypsy bands, the jazz marches of Albert Ayler and the cosmic carnival of Sun Ra.

At The Forum at 8pm, ‘Feeding the Fish’ will amaze crowds with a high-energy stage-show where juggling and movement are performed in partial light with illuminated clubs and balls, changing brightness and strobing, emitting a spectrum of colours in perfect synchronization to a dramatic soundtrack. A mesmerising spectacle of choreographed colour which is both intriguing and captivating. Please note, there will be some strobing lights during this performance.

Some of the most talented street theatre performers in business will be in town on Saturday 27 October. ‘Emile Epstein’ will be performing Fire Juggling, Breathing, Fire Poi and Fire Staff. ‘Pesky four-legged bugs’, ladies gossiping over a wall, a man with a noisy briefcase and amazing artist – ‘John Hicks’ are all to feature and guaranteed to surprise you should you stumble across them!

Live music this year is an eclectic mix including many new bands including ‘Tuxedo Funktion’ - 9-piece funk/disco covers band, ‘The Mike O’Mara Gypsy Project’ with gypsy jazz, up-beat Eastern-European and Folk, plus ‘Rachel Hawker and the Remedies’ also plays with bundles of attitude.

Continuing into the evening from 6.30pm, the Battle of the Bands Final will take place on the Carfax Bandstand and will see six, talented young Horsham bands battle it out for that ‘winner’ title. Heats are taking place throughout October at the Drill Hall, Horsham.

The fun of the fair is back, lighting up the town with exciting rides - all at low prices. The turn-of-the-century style fair provides a great atmosphere throughout the town, featuring a Carousel, Chair-o-Planes, Haunted Castle, Games and Sides Stools plus the Ferris Wheel allowing spectacular views across Horsham, both day and night.

As usual, the majority of entertainment will be absolutely FREE. Don’t miss out!

This year's Festival is supported by METROBUS, shop@Panasonic and B52's.

For further information contact Leisure

Horsham Youth Bikefest

Horsham Youth Bikefest is an event run by Horsham Youth Cycling in Partnership with Horsham Leisure Link and is based at Broadbridge Heath Leasure Centre.

On Sunday 14th October from 10:00 to 4:00 there are a number of events for children of all ages supported by their parents.

The event is co-ordinated by Ian Ford contactable on 07764 146338 or ian.ford@horsham.gov.uk or full details here

Horsham & Southwater Responders

Horsham community responders looking to recruit.

Please see - for more info :)

http://www.horshamforum.com/Topic2175-4-1.aspx

Horsham Women in Business - Printing with Evon

Horsham Branch

Printing with Evon

Mon 12th November
Registration from 19:15

HORSHAM Branch - Evon Print, Mackley Ind Estate, Henfield Rd, Henfield, BN5 9XE

Price: £6.00 or £10.00 for non-members

Register for this event at:

http://www.wib-sussex.co.uk/horsham/diaryregister.html?id=120

Evonprint specialise in affordable and effective design and print for all businesses. A few members of our committee have experienced the Evonprint
magic and service, and when we approached one of the Directors to ask whether they would be willing to host an evening for us, they very kindly agreed. Here is what they have to say about the evening (we hope that you
can join us).

"We have organised some light nibbles and wine for November 12th. We will of course be open to all of your questions regarding the design and print process and hope that you will come armed with plenty of them!
It might be that you are curious about how we achieve
certain end results or perhaps have a query from previous experience with another printer that you would like us to address. We will walk you around our facility and explain to you, as the presses and machines are running
just what they are doing and how they are doing it. We are certain you will be amazed at the technological advances which Evonprint have made.

You will also see for yourselves the journey each and every design and print project takes with us at Evonprint. We will hopefully dispel the myth that all print and design costs a fortune! The care network that CHASE offers stretches throughout SW London, Surrey and Sussex.
CHASE supports families throughout the illness of their child and beyond, and without CHASE many families would find it difficult to cope. Today CHASE is supporting over 250 families.
It costs £3.5 million each year to run CHASE which has to be raised through charitable donation. There will also be time for questions from the floor.

So who are the FSB?
"Nearly 40 years ago a man who owned a small business in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire had a vision. If the self-employed and small businessmen and women of this country got together and formed an association to represent the small business sector, what could be achieved?

The Federation has gone from strength to strength fighting campaigns against red tape and bad legislation, standing up to the banks and quangos, until we are now the largest organisation of it's kind in Europe, which makes us the strongest pressure group representing the small business community.

With the success comes the Federation's ability to be able to offer its membership a package of 24 hour support and protection. There is always an expert available should you have problems. There is also a package of money saving advantages. With size comes the strength to tap into business resources not available to an individual small business, indeed feedback now being received from members is that once the money saving advantages are tapped into then the membership fees are covered.
