After the rip roaring success of BGMF 08 its time to do it all again, bigger & better than ever before, preparations are well advance with regard to this years festival, which will be held once again on the Village Green, at the heart of our village, on Sunday the 5th July commencing at midday & running through to 10.00pm. If you have been before all the usuals, will be there together with a few new added features. Being our 5th & now annual Music Festival, we are making a positive move to bring in acts that will bring a vibrant feel to the festival plus a couple of old favourites to get you bopping ! ! ! ! ! !

For example this year we welcome the return of the Rachel Hawker & the Remedies who will taking to the stage at approx. 7.30pm on the big day, we also welcome the return of the founders of this event, Who Dares Sings fresh from there success in last years Radio 3 Choir of the year competition, where they won through to the semi finals.

In addition we welcome for the first time a wide selection of new and established local musical talent, which we hope will make this years festival the best yet, building upon the phenomenal success of last years event that raised nearly £3500 for the Dame Vera Lynn Trust, supporting the School for Parents at near by Five Oaks.

This years Festival will once again support Chestnut Tree House, the only children’s hospice in Sussex & we hope to raise an even more impressive sum for this year’s nominated charity.

The festival will commence at midday & in addition to Rachel Hawker & the Remedies & Who Dares Sings will feature The Bootleggers, The Saviours of Soul & Malfunction. Further bands are to be announced in the coming weeks, so watch this space! Further to all this activity on the main stage, there will be far more happening on or around the village green & in the Village Hall, more on this later, but we are able to confirm the return of “HouseProud” once again presenting a history of House Music, within the Village Hall during the evening.

It is going to be an amazing day of live music, so whether you’ve been before or are a BGMF virgin, looking to attend for the first time, you are all welcome to come & enjoy a great family orientated day out.

And with your help we will raise a lot of money for our nominated charity “Chestnut Tree House”"

FOREST YOUTH WING IS HAVING A EASTER MONDAY STREET SPORTS FUN DAY IT WILL BE A FUN PACKED DAY WITH LIVE MUSIC, SKATEBOARDING, BMXING, BLADING, FOOTBALL AND EVEN SUMO WRESTLING.

So please feel free to bring the whole family and join in the fun, you will be able to skateboard or if you have a bmx or skates you can use them as well. (Helmets must be worn but we can provide some)
There will be a 3-a-side cage football tournament and sumo wrestling ring.
There will be a burger van and ice cream van for refreshment.

The event starts at Forest School, Comptons Lane, Horsham.

Be part of Relay For Life and experience fun, friendship and fundraising while supporting the life-saving work of Cancer
Research UK.

When you get involved with Relay, you'll be working with your community to create an amazing event. It involves entertainment, music and games – and a fantastic community spirit. It's also a unique opportunity to pay tribute to those who have been affected by cancer.

Relay brings your local community together:
Local teams of friends, family, neighbours and colleagues fundraise within their local communities throughout the year, raising all they can for the life-saving work of Cancer Research UK. Everyone then gets together for an inspiring overnight event of celebration and commemoration that the whole community can be part of.

On the day of the Relay:
At the event everyone gathers at Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre and takes turns walking laps. Each team tries to keep at least one member on the track at all times, whilst all around them a party is in full swing.

Relay For Life Horsham lasts for 24 hours, runs overnight and includes a Survivors' Lap of Honour and a moving Candle of Hope ceremony.
