Hi DotCom from DotNet! Thank you for registering and welcome to the forums. During the course of my web work I frequently get asked to look at peoples computer hardware. If it is something simple that only takes a couple of minutes I am normally happy to help but usually it is apparent that it is likely to be more involved and time consuming. I then tell them that they really need to get someone in to take a look at the problem and then they ask me "can you recommend anybody" Surprisingly I hardly know of any firms round here that cater for both domestic and business users so hopefully there is plenty of opportunity for you in this area. I personally don't "recommend" anybody until I know a bit about their work etc. but I will gladly pass your number on and let people make their own minds up.

I got called out to look at a 12 year old Mac a few months ago. It seemed OK apart from the monitor had died. Because of its age it was not possible to replace it with a generic PC monitor. I guess even Macs use the standard 15 way VGA these days or are they still daring to be even more different?

| You can get adapters to connect either VGA or DVI compatible monitors directly from Apple - think they are about £10 each
