| Hi, I just wondered if anyone knows who maintains the footpaths in Southwater?? The Schools are all pushing for the kids to walk to school, and we live near the Leisure Centre, but the path across the top of the field is now very overgrown with weeds and brambles. It would also be great if they could sort the surface out so that it didn't get so muddy in wet weather. Does anyone know who I should talk to??

| Hello ShortStuff. Thank you for registering and welcome to the forums. Most of the public open space in Southwater is owned and maintained by Southwater Parish Council. They are also responsible for the Leisure Centre and its play areas. I would suggest you give them a ring. If they are not responsible for that path then they should know who is. The Southwater Parish Council number is 01403 733202. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

| Hi short stuff I enquired about this footpath when my daughter started infant school, she is now at college. This foot path is not a recognised or proper footpath and therefore local council at the time did not want to know. I explained all the normal stuff about healthy kids, more awake at school, better work, road safety, less pollution etc but there were not intrested. I believe there is a dog poo bin there but why this was erected by something that is not a foot path i don't know? any ideas? pursue it and good luck you have my backing
