Powerhouse enters administration

Powerhouse, the UK's third biggest electrical retailer, has gone into administration, closing 50 stores and making about 500 staff redundant. The move came after PRG, its New Zealand-based owner, withdrew financial support for the loss-making chain.

Administrators BDO Stoy Hayward hope to sell the chain, based in Bicester, Oxfordshire, as a going concern. Local customers who have made recent purchases and are worried about receiving them can call a helpline number - 0845 6034037.

A decision about the future of the Horsham Powerhouse site which is in a prime location has yet to be made.

It's a same another Horsham shop is to close. At least, as is with Silverscreen, it is a national problem rather than a Horsham problem.

It doesn't make it any easier for the people involved though.

Good luck to you all. I hope your find alternative employment soon.
