| Does anyone know anything about the Green Dragon? My son and his girlfriend were visiting from the US this past week and one night they went out to explore the town on their own. They went into the Green Dragon and told me they got a definite sense that they were not wanted. Then, when they ordered a drink, the bartender told them they should find a different pub. They are both in their mid-twenties, clean cut, polite and not looking for trouble. I always knew the pub was popular with the younger crowd but I didn't know they were so hostile to strangers.

Sorry to hear that Mike.  I haven't been to the Green Dragon for a couple of months but I have been there many times in the past. I have never felt an 'atmosphere' and certainly have not seen anybody told they would be better off elsewhere (other than trouble makers off course). Did the Barman give them any reason?

No, no reason given. He did say the bartender wasn't "being an a**hole" to them, but simply encouraged them to go somewhere else. Not wanting any trouble, they finished their drinks and returned to our flat. It didn't sour them on the place, however, they had a great time while they were here and thought Horsham was a picturesque and pleasant town.

| That's funny--that is exactly what the bartender said to them! It could be that he knew they were tourists and just didn't want them around for some reason. Piries Pub was one of the alternate places he suggested they might be better off visiting. They came home instead, which is too bad; I like Piries Pub.
