I stumbled across this site tonight and found some of the articles very amusing: This article about the Christmas build up is interesting It includes another message of disappointment at the lack of a Christmas Lights and Fireworks ceremony this year. The glossary cracked me up: It seems our US colleagues don't understand trainspotting

| Hi Mike, what I meant to say is that we don't tend to use the term SUV. Chelsea tracor is one option or, more commonly 4x4 (4 by 4). It is often said that they are used for the school run and the only time they go off road is to park on the pavement!

Hi Mike Thank you for registering and welcome to the forums. The first time I heard the term SUV was in The States. Like Mike says they tend to be just called '4 by 4's' round here. Incidentally my brother used to live in Chicago and I spent quite a lot of time there. One thing that always amused me is that Chicago people drive EVERYWHERE even if its only a block or two away. They then spend twenty minutes driving around in every increasing circles trying to find a space before 'touch parking' their huge Cadillacs against the cars either side of them. One of those little Smart cars on your glossary page would be quite practicable out there!! You would probably get laughed right out of town if you drove on though!

Hi Mike, Saw you website thought it was very humorous. It’s interesting to see our country from an American point of view. It must be handy for fellow ex-pat Americans that would want to keep in touch with each other, you must have enough Brits living and working in the states. The bit that made me laugh the most was we moaning about the good weather we’ve had this year. I never moan, I always varied and never boring. I liked the good collection of photos from your travels.
